NOW Lebanon -Saudi king reaffirms support for Syrian leadership

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday to reaffirm his support for the Syrian leadership, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on Monday.
Abdel Aziz said his kingdom supports Syria in confronting “the conspiracy targeting [the country] and aimed at harming its security and stability,” the report said.

إلى ذلك، قالت كلينتون، في مقابلة مع شبكة «سي بي إس» الأميركية، إن الولايات المتحدة تأسف بشدة للعنف في سوريا لكن الظروف مختلفة في ليبيا حيث استخدم الرئيس معمر القذافي قواته الجوية ومدرعاته الثقيلة ضد المدنيين.
وعما إذا كان من المتوقع تدخل واشنطن في سوريا على غرار الضربات الجوية التي تشنها الولايات المتحدة ودول أخرى على ليبيا، قالت كلينتون «لا». وأضافت «كل من هذه الأوضاع له خصوصيته... المؤكد أننا نأسف بشدة للعنف في سوريا وندعو مثلما دعونا كل هذه الحكومات إلى الاستجابة لاحتياجات الشعوب وعدم اللجوء للعنف والسماح بالاحتجاجات السلمية وبدء عملية للإصلاح الاقتصادي والسياسي».
