Trevor Paglen Studio seeks a research/investigative journalist intern to conduct research on persistent surveillance systems and computer vision systems. The internship is part-time, based in New York City, and pays $200 a week.

The intern will work closely with artist/researcher Trevor Paglen on a series of visual projects (film, video, still-image) and articles that explore how contemporary imaging systems are reconfiguring a diverse range of social, economic, and political relationships in fields such as law-enforcement, warfare, urban planning, industrial production, logistics, consumerism, and agriculture. Specific systems to research will include Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR), military surveillance systems like “Gorgon Stare” and “Argus,” urban surveillance infrastructures such as the NYPD’s Domain Awareness System, and commercial applications from Object Video, Euclid Analytics, and others.
