Most screens today are widescreens, so why are we not putting the left and right hand sides of the screen to better use, instead of forcing everything into a bar on the top of the window?
In order to explore how a left hand user interface might look and behave in a web browser, I decided to do some mock ups in Antetype. Be warned, this is going to get quite detailed (my apologies in advance).
