• Gaza teachers turned back from Jordan border: More than 100 Palestinian teachers from the Gaza Strip who were traveling to Qatar for job opportunities were forced to return home Tuesday after discovering no coordination had been implemented to enter Jordan. The 114 teachers had left the Gaza Strip on Tuesday via the Erez crossing to take qualification tests and undergo interviews in the Jordanian capital. Nathmi Mhanna, general director of the Palestinian Authority crossings and borders, told Ma’an that while no coordination had been carried out, the PA is ready to grant permission for the Qatari committee to enter the Gaza Strip and carry out tests and interviews for the teachers. Muhammad Mushtaha, director of Mushataha Tourism, Travelling and Hajj Affairs, said arrangements had been made for more than 100 teachers, including 69 women, to leave Gaza for Amman to take tests and undergo interviews for work opportunities in the Gulf state.
