Sites could even let users set their own cut-off points: If I’ve been on Twitter for more than an hour today, please lock me out.
Will this work? Probably not. At least in the United States, we’ve been notoriously hesitant to regulate tech companies. But sometimes it’s important to at least discuss regulation, in order to reframe the basic terms of the conversation.
