I listened to Edgar Martins give an overview of his practice and introduce his latest project, The Time Machine, at Photofusion yesterday. This work see’s Martins access Hydro-electricity plants across Europe. In doing so, he explores the desertification of these spaces, which when set-up were once teeming with a busy workforce, and are instead now manned and operated (automated) by only a handful of staff; including the cleaners.
