Oscar Ng Chun’s film takes a subtler approach to consider a changing Hong Kong, but is no less powerful for it. Here we find Nine – played by stage actor Au-Yeung Chun with few film credits to his name – the sole employee of a laundry set for closure, sent out to return a washed suit and the broken watch it contained to its original owner. He soon discovers that a more difficult task than he would expect, with the owner moved on and local area almost unrecognisable from redevelopment. But amid stores that advertise discounts for Chinese tourists, there are local resident who seek to preserve the areas unique charm.
