North Korea has 28 web servers
▻http://motherboard.vice.com/read/north-korea-has-just-28-websites
On Tuesday, apparently by mistake, North Korea misconfigured its nameserver, essentially a list that holds information on all of the domains that exist for .kp, allowing anyone to query it and get the list.
In other words, a snafu by North Korea’s system administrators allowed anyone to ask the country’s nameserver: “can I have all of your information on this domain?" and get an answer, giving everyone a peek into the strange world of North Korea’s web.
“Now we have a complete list of domain names for the country and it’s surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly) very small,” Matt Bryant, a security engineer who found out about the mistake, told Motherboard in an email.
North Korea has only 28 registered domains, according to the leaked data.

While only investigation of logs and network traffic can prove a DDoS attack, we can say from our experience observing and stopping hundreds of attacks that this attack fits the pattern of DDoS.
The picture below shows North Korea’s ISP - STAR-KP - slowly losing connection to the world (BGP routers dropping connections):
Attack victims often reroute, or “null route,” traffic when under attack, trying to thwart the attacker. We can speculate that this is why you see a slow failure, one router at a time, in the replay. With STAR-KP being North Korea’s single point of failure, and not a strong one, all it took was for STAR-KP to crash for everything to tumble.

Two Israelis and a Senegalese national were questioned in #Cyprus in connection with an oil tanker loaded from a rebel-held port in #Libya, the island’s CNA news agency reported Monday. It said police in the coastal city of Larnaca questioned the three on Saturday on suspicion of negotiating to buy crude from the tanker, Morning Glory. A Larnaca court declined to issue arrest warrants as authorities in Cyprus had no evidence that the alleged offence was committed within its territorial waters. read more

A North Korean-flagged tanker carrying an “illegal” cargo of oil from a rebel-held port in eastern #Libya on Tuesday escaped navy ships that were escorting it, an MP said. “The oil tanker took advantage of poor weather conditions to head for the open sea. The ships that were surrounding it were not in a position to follow it,” said a member of the General National Congress, the country’s highest political authority. (AFP)
