    Hizbullah Official Assassinated in Hadath, Party Points Finger at Israel

    Hizbullah official Hajj Hassan Hollo al-Laqqis, who is a prominent figure in the resistance, was assassinated overnight near his residence in Hadath in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

    “Around 12 a.m. overnight Hajj Hassan Hollo al-Laqqis was assassinated near his house in Sainte Thérèse neighborhood in Hadath while he was on his way back from his work,” a statement issued by Hizbulla’s press office said on Wednesday.

    Hizullah accused in the statement Israel with carrying out the assassination, revealing that Laqqis “was subjected several times and in several areas to failed assassination attempts.”

    وقال البيان “إن الاتهام المباشر يتجه الى العدو الإسرائيلي حكماً، والذي حاول أن ينال من أخينا الشهيد مرات عديدة وفي أكثر من منطقة، وفشلت محاولاته تلك إلى أن كانت عملية الاغتيال الغادرة ليل أمس، وعلى هذا العدو أن يتحمل كامل المسؤولية وجميع تبعات هذه الجريمة النكراء، وهذا الإستهداف المتكرر لقادة المقاومة وكوادرها الأعزاء”.

      Israël a mis en garde mercredi le Hezbollah contre toute attaque visant son territoire après avoir démenti les accusations du mouvement chiite libanais lui imputant l’assassinat d’un de ses chefs près de Beyrouth.
      « Si le Hezbollah se livre à une attaque contre le territoire israélien, notre réplique sera ferme et douloureuse », a prévenu à la radio militaire le vice-ministre de la Défense, Danny Danon.

      Le Hezbollah, ennemi juré d’Israël, a accusé ce pays d’avoir assassiné Hassan Hawlo al-Lakiss, un leader du Hezbollah et proche collaborateur de son chef Hassan Nasrallah abattu mardi soir par balles devant sa maison dans la localité de Hadath, à l’est de Beyrouth.

      « L’accusation directe est dirigée contre l’ennemi israélien qui a tenté d’éliminer notre frère martyr à maintes reprises mais ses tentatives avaient échoué jusqu’à hier soir », a dit le Hezbollah. « Cet ennemi doit assumer l’entière responsabilité et les conséquences de ce crime ignoble ».
