Early in the rise to power of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP, commonly known as the Nazi party), infighting triggered fierce debates between proponents of Modernism (i.e. those who accepted Expressionism and, to a certain extent, Bauhaus ideas) and Völkism (i.e. those who revered Teutonic folk traditions). Ultimately a rigid, retrograde Nazi style developed that inveigled its way into society through the concept of Gleichschaltung, the integration and consolidation of National Socialist cultural dominance over everything from architecture to typeface design.

Un moyen rapide de voir le meilleur de la #typo, c’est peut-être le concours annuel du #Type_Director's_Club. A l’annonce de l’édition 2012, je retombe sur le résultat de 2011, avec la présentation des 20 lauréats de l’année.
Et notamment cette “Nori” :
“Nori is a hand-lettered typeface that contains over 1,100 glyphs, 250 ligatures, 487 alternate characters,125+ swash and titling alternates, lining and old style numerals. I do not use digital textures. It is the result of brush and ink on paper. The textures produced in each glyph are real and the imperfections are intentional and add to the sincerity of the letters.”

Ça faisait longtemps que j’avais pas vu un bon film bien sec et obscure, ça ne vaut pas un Requiem For A Dream, mais ça dépote quand même. Pour ceux qui aime ce genre de film, je le conseille fortement.
