The Barenboim-Said Akademie, founded by Daniel Barenboim, provides top-tier musical education in Berlin and beyond, emphasising orchestral training and artistic expression. Said established the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in 1999, aiming to unite Arab and Israeli musicians for peace. This initiative led to the founding of the Barenboim-Said Akademie in 2015, continuing the mission of its predecessors by educating the next generation of musicians with a curriculum inspired by their vision. Michael Barenboim, born in Paris in 1985, is a renowned classical violinist and violist, serving as concertmaster of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and holding positions at the Barenboim-Said Akademie, including professor of ensemble playing and violin, and dean since 2020 until February 2024.
