Je suis un homme du siècle dernier, j’essaie de m’adapter, mais je n’en ai pas vraiment envie.

    Plutôt bon article, et conscient de ses limites. Par exemple, il mesure surtout la présence d’un langage en ligne par Wikipédia, et par des pages Web publiques http://borel.slu.edu/crubadan : zéro mesure sur le courrier électronique, la messagerie instantanée ou - surtout pour les langues sans écriture - la voix sur IP. Pourtant, sur ces services, on peut penser que les langues « rares » sont davantage présentes. C’est donc à prendre avec prudence.

    À noter que deux articles de médiocre qualité ont relayé ce travail de recherche, avec des titres sensationnalistes qui ne s’appuient pas sur l’article original : http://rslnmag.fr/post/2014/03/21/internet-offre-moins-de-diversite-linguistique-que-la-presse-et-la-radio.asp (le titre ne correspond à aucun fait cité par András Kornai et l’article est uniquement une charge anti-Internet) et http://america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2014/3/language-linguisticstechnologyinternetdigitaldivideicann.html (chiffres malhonnêtes comme « 95 percent of languages have almost no presence online » en oubliant de dire que ce n’est qu’une infime partie de la population ou « the Internet, a supposed cure-all, is only making matters worse » qui n’est nulle part chez Kornai). Notez aussi que ces deux articles en profitent pour régler des comptes avec l’ICANN en disant n’importe quoi sur les IDN (ni les IDN, ni l’ICANN ne sont mentionnés dans l’article de Kornai). Bref, il faut lire les articles originaux et pas ceux qui essaient (mal) de les résumer.
