There are four hundred and fifty million people living in the watershed of the Yangtze, and nearly as many ways to interface with the river.
I 2012, Mustafah Abdulaziz, a twenty-six-year-old originally from Bedford-Stuyvesant, who was largely self-educated in #photography, and who carried a medium-format Japanese film camera called the Mamiya 7, set out to take pictures of #water. He figured that this would take at least a decade. After doing some research, he decided that he needed to visit thirty-two countries, and he started with Somalia.
