  • From The Syrian Democartic Council about the fight against COVID-19 in Syria

Ibrahim Ibrahim, the media coordinator of SDC in Europe, participated in a talk show broadcast by one of the satellite channels to talk about the dangers of Corona pandemic in northern Syria and the failure of the international parties concerned to provide health support to the regions of NE Syria in particular, but the presenter insisted on making several accusations about the policy of SDC in a provocative manner, which drove the speech of the colleague “Ibrahim Ibrahim” from its proper course and removed it from the reality of the position of the Syrian Democratic Council, which completely rejects any inflammatory speech against Syrian civilians.

Therefore, we in the Media Office of SDC will take all necessary procedures to prevent the recurrence of such errors, and we apologize for the wounds of all civilians in Syria who suffered the greatest harm during the years of the tragic war. We would like to emphasize that the position of SDC has not changed towards solidarity with the suffering of civilians in Idlib areas. We affirm what the Syrian Democratic Forces announced about their willingness to host the IDPs from Idlib area following the battles that led to their displacement, and we would like to recall that the regions of NE Syria were and still are the safest areas for Syrians from various Syrian governorates and the SDC refuses in any way to threaten the security of civilians, or considering them a party to any conflict. The Syrian Democratic Council also deeply regrets the exploitation of such mistakes to incite against it, while the policies of misleadingand systematic obfuscation towards its positions and its national and sincere rhetoric on the Syrian issue continues.
