Des sites olympiques rouvrent pour des migrants

Les autorités grecques ont évacué, hier, sous la pression d’habitants du centre d’Athènes, un campement improvisé de migrants et les ont transférés vers un site abandonné des jeux Olympiques de 2004, rouvert pour les héberger. Environ 800 personnes selon la police, surtout des familles afghanes qui campaient sur la place Victoria depuis plus d’un mois, ont été conduites en bus au site de Galatsi, dans la banlieue ouest de la capitale, où ont eu lieu en été 2004 les compétitions de table de tennis.

The camps are in a crazy variety of places: an abandoned beach resort, an Olympic baseball stadium, a highway rest stop, the grounds of an old psychiatric hospital. A team from This American Life went to see how people are adapting to this new life they do not want. We also sent a group of architects and engineers to capture each camp in the architectural renderings that follow. Take a tour to see how people live on the third base line and what others do to deal with the wild boars that roam around at night.
