A un anno dall’ ”accordo” tra l’Unione europea e la Turchia, un report fa il punto sulle procedure messe in atto nel Paese per fermare i flussi di migranti. Un sistema che ha come obiettivo quello di rivoluzionare il diritto d’asilo attraverso una riduzione dei diritti storicamente riconosciuti ai profughi.
“Quello che è stato fatto in Grecia è la messa a punto e la sperimentazione di un sistema normativo che ha come obiettivo quello di rivoluzionare il diritto d’asilo, permettendo una riduzione dei diritti storicamente riconosciuti ai richiedenti asilo. Alla Grecia si è chiesto di forzare alcune normative o di emanare alcuni istituti e renderli sistemici per sperimentarli”, spiega l’avv. Salvatore Fachile dell’ASGI in un’intervista alla rivista Altreconomia.

Refugee arrivals drop in Greece a year after Turkey-EU deal
A new report published by the Italian association of juridical studies (ASGI) says that the number of migrant arrivals has reduced in Greek islands. Detentions had gone up and some asylum seekers were not being readmitted in Turkey.

EU to scale back Greek asylum aid
Athens is set to nationalise services over the summer that were previously funded by the EU amid concerns that it won’t be able to deliver, as some 60 people continue to arrive from Turkey to the islands on a daily basis.
