29.10.2026 by Joe Sommerlad - German climate change skeptic Naomi Seibt – who has been cast as the “anti-Greta” for expressing views diametrically opposed to those of Greta Thunberg – has filed for political asylum in the U.S., claiming she is being denied protection from persecution in her homeland.
Speaking to Fox News Digital Tuesday, Seibt, 25, said she is currently in America legally and has submitted a petition under Section 208 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to secure permanent residence in the interests of her own safety.
“I have now applied for asylum, which means that I’m waiting for an interview. And, in the meantime, I’m here legally,” she said. “My goal in the meantime is to become an American citizen in the future because this country has given me so much hope.”
Seibt said tech billionaire Elon Musk is supporting her asylum appeal after he reached out to her on his platform X following her decision to vote for the far-right Alternative für Deutschland party.
“I made a post during the European elections in June 2024, where I said, ‘My name is Naomi Seibt, and I’m voting for the AfD,’ and that was the very first time that Musk interacted with me – Elon privately messaged me on x about the AfD,” she said.
"Over the course of last year, I was obviously retweeted a lot by Elon Musk, and I interacted with him personally in private messages just about what’s going on in Germany.”
Discussing the political climate in Europe, Seibt told Fox: “It is illegal to damage the reputation of a politician in Germany. This law was extended under Angela Merkel, Article 188, and now people are being arrested. And their houses are being raided for just social media posts. As soon as I come back to Germany, I feel that they will try to arrest me.”
“In 2024, I found out that I had been spied on by German intelligence for years. Simultaneously, I keep receiving death threats from Antifa,” she claimed.

“I went to the German police, and they told me that they can’t do anything about it as long as I have not actually been raped or killed. I am not getting protection from the German government even though I am at major risk of potentially being killed.”
Asked about being regularly juxtaposed with Thunberg, 22, Seibt said: “I had started becoming known and internationally recognized as the anti-Greta Thunberg in 2020.
"I was barely 19 years old and never expected to be recognized as a right-wing figure. The German media called me the anti-Greta, they demonize me as the ‘anti-Greta’, like an antichrist for Greta Thunberg.
“I’m Naomi Seibt and want to be recognized as who I am because I’m not just some puppet poster figure for the right wing.”
Hailing from Munster in North Rhine-Westphalia, Seibt’s mother is reportedly a lawyer who has represented the AfD. The activist – who prefers the term “climate realist” to “climate denier,” which she argues invokes Holocaust denialism. She first made headlines in her homeland while a high school student when she composed a nationalist poem, “Sometimes I Keep Silent,” that was published on a right-wing blog.

She subsequently built up a large social media following by uploading videos to YouTube, beginning in May 2019, with titles like “Climate change – just hot air?”, “Fierce without Feminism”, and “Message to the Media – HOW DARE YOU?”
She was first compared to Thunberg by the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper after she delivered a star-making address that November at the European Institute for Climate and Energy’s International Climate and Energy Conference.
Seibt was subsequently hired by The Heartland Institute, a U.S. think-tank based in Chicago, which has previously lobbied on behalf of tobacco firms, supports fracking, and rejects the scientific consensus on climate change, to be the face of its climate denial campaign.
The association saw her speak at events like Heartland’s International Conference on Climate Change at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in fall 2021, which was dubbed the “anti-Cop26.”
In addition to attacking climate “alarmism,” the YouTuber has been accused of engaging in antisemitism, white nationalism, and spreading Covid-19 misinformation during the pandemic. It has previously promoted the QAnon conspiracy theory.
Should she become a U.S. citizen, Seibt will find her position on the environment neatly aligned with that of the Trump administration, the president himself having regularly dismissed global warming as a “scam” and a “hoax,” and backing a return to fossil fuel exploitation over investment in alternative renewable energy sources.

Die AfD-nahe deutsche Influencerin Naomi Seibt bereitet laut einem Bericht des Düsseldorfer „Handelsblatt“ die Gründung eines Netzwerks mit dem Titel „Freedom Alliance of the West (FAW)“ vor. Finanzieren will sie dieses demnach aus Mitteln der US-Regierung. Bei dem Vorhaben wolle sie „mit alternativen Medien und Umfrageinstituten“ zusammenarbeiten, zitierte sie die Zeitung.
Seibt war durch Social-Media-Posts gegen eine angebliche Masseneinwanderung bekannt geworden. Unterstützt wird sie unter anderem durch den Tech-Milliardär Elon Musk, was der 25-Jährigen den Beinamen „Musk-Flüsterin“ einbrachte.
Sie leugnet den menschengemachten Klimawandel und lehnt Klimaschutz demzufolge ab. In Videos wirbt sie für die AfD und weitere Organisationen der extremen Rechten. Im vergangenen Jahr beantragte sie Asyl in den USA, wo sie auch vorwiegend lebt.
Das neue Vorhaben Seibts beinhalte nach ihren Angaben unter anderem den Aufbau eines Social-Media-Senders mit der Bezeichnung „Freedom TV“ und eine Kooperation „mit europäischen Anwälten, die Meinungsfreiheitsfälle vertreten“, hieß es weiter im „Handelsblatt“.
Zur Finanzierung bewerbe sich die rechtsgerichtete Aktivistin um Geld aus einem Fonds von 4,9 Millionen Dollar. Mit diesem will die US-Regierung von Donald Trump europäische Organisationen unterstützen, die sich „gegen Zensur“ einsetzen sowie die „Folgen von Massenmigration“ behandeln.

(dpo) - Die in den USA lebende rechtsextreme Influencerin Naomi Seibt ist heute auf offener Straße von ICE-Agenten festgenommen und auf einen Abschiebeflug nach Deutschland geschafft worden. Zuvor hatte die 25-Jährige Asyl in den Vereinigten Staaten beantragt.
„Sie lief gerade friedlich durch Washington und nahm ein Video von sich auf, in dem sie sich darüber beschwerte, was für ein Unrechtsstaat Deutschland ist, als plötzlich ein schwarzer Van vor ihr hielt“, berichtete eine Augenzeugin, die die Festnahme miterlebte. „Da sprangen dann 14 maskierte ICE-Agenten raus, drückten sie gewaltsam zu Boden, legten ihr Handschellen an und nahmen sie mit.“
Rund 24 Stunden später wurde Seibt ohne ordentlichen Richterbeschluss in einen Abschiebeflieger nach Deutschland gesetzt.
„Wir brauchen hier keine dreckigen Asylanten aus Deutschland, die unser Sozialsystem ausbeuten und hart arbeitenden amerikanischen Faschisten den Job als Hetzer auf Social Media wegnehmen“, rechtfertigte die Sprecherin des Weißen Hauses Karoline Leavitt das rabiate Durchgreifen der Behörden. „Außerdem weiß jeder, dass Deutsche kriminell sind und Katzen und Hunde essen.“
US-Präsident Donald Trump ging sogar so weit, den Bau einer Mauer zu Deutschland anzukündigen, um weitere Flüchtlingsströme aus der Bundesrepublik einzudämmen.
Naomi Seibt soll noch im Laufe des heutigen Tages in Deutschland landen. Dort drohen der geflüchteten Dissidentin eine erfolgreiche politische Karriere als AfD-Politikerin, lukrative Buchverträge sowie Einladungen in zahlreiche Talkshore

November 2023, when an X user posted that Jews “have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them,” Musk replied, “You have said the actual truth.”
But he didn’t just use X to promote opinions he already held. More importantly, he used it to acquire new ones. It has long been clear to researchers that social media platforms don’t simply reflect existing preferences—they actively generate them.
As Musk remolded X to align with his rightward shift, he immersed himself in its feedback loops to radicalize himself further. This can be seen in his relationship with the German far-right activist Naomi Seibt, often called the “anti-Greta” for countering Greta Thunberg’s progressivism.
Seibt spent years seeking Musk’s attention, pinging him nearly 600 times between October 2022 and January 2025. Musk responded in June 2024, after which he engaged with her over fifty times. The benefits for her are obvious—she has grown her follower count by over 300,000 since Musk bought the platform.
More interesting is how, through his engagement, Musk was, in effect, entering a tutoring relationship—one by which he was being trained in her talking points. And he was bringing his tens of millions of followers along with him: as he responded to Seibt, her posts would appear in their feeds too. The anti-Greta had become what Politico called “the German Musk whisperer.”
Her themes became his.
These interactions led to Musk becoming an increasingly vocal supporter of the far-right party Alternative for Germany, culminating in a live conversation on X with the party’s co-leader Alice Weidel (in which she described Hitler as a “communist”), as well as a video appearance at a campaign event in January 2025, in which Musk declared that it was time for Germans to “move beyond” their “focus on past guilt.” “It’s good to be proud of German culture and German values, and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” he told the thousands of attendees. By September 2025, he was openly calling for mass repatriation of immigrants, posting that “remigration is the only way.”
Alternative for Germany and its far-right counterparts elsewhere, from Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy to Nayib Bukele’s New Ideas in El Salvador, seemed to offer the ideal antibodies with which to defeat the woke mind virus. These parties were proving adept at mastering memetic warfare in a way that impressed Musk with their efficacy. These were the Teslas of politics, capable of applying the mindset and methods of Silicon Valley to displace legacy parties. On X, Musk helped bring them together.
