Ce projet conjoint du British council et de l’Office international des migrations a été présenté le 29 mai 2012 à l’université de Genève. La question des migrations est sans doute une de celle qui est la plus dénaturée dans les discours publics et politiques. Dispelling Myths about Migration was a panel discussion about challenging everyday misperceptions about migrants and migration. Migration is one of the key global challenges that we face in the twenty first century, yet it is perhaps one of the most misrepresented topics in both public and political discourse.
This event aimed to create a space for dialogue and to start to develop some new perspectives on the role several actors have to play in dispelling migration myths. We brought together a diverse expert panel comprised of voices from the media, politics, the arts, practitioners and the migrant community, who all have a direct stake in how we communicate about migration.
