BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — The Hamas movement and Israel reportedly reached an agreement to ease violence on the borders between the besieged Gaza Strip and southern Israel.

The Al-Hayat newspaper reported that Egyptian intelligence officials managed to reach an agreement between the two parties; the Hamas movement reportedly agreed to cease all border violence, including “The Great March of Return” protests and and incendiary balloons’ launch, in exchange for lifting the Israeli-imposed siege on Gaza.

Among the agreement conditions, is that Israel would open the Gaza border crossings, extend the allowed fishing zone to nine nautical miles as a beginning and then to 20 nautical miles.

Unnamed sources told the Lebanon-based al-Mayadeen that the agreement also includes employing thousands of unemployed Palestinians in Gaza.
