The overwhelming number of deaths, over 75%, occurred in people who had at least 4 comorbidities. So really these are people who were unwell to begin with and yes, really encouraging news in the context of Omicron

  Il y a une dimension géopolitique dans cette politique eugéniste assumée de la part du CDC. Le virus semble exploité pour forcer la Chine à se calfeutrer, à s’isoler.
  On me tient désormais sans complexe ce discours : ce sont les plus fragiles qui meurent, il faut faire notre immunité, c’est comme cela que la grippe espagnole est passée, et il faut donc protéger les plus fragiles. Yakafaukon en laissant les choses se passer et le virus circuler pour faire son immunité.
  On est dans une dystopie et personne ne nous a prévenu.
  Je termine : il est urgent de réclamer le déclassement des Conseils de Défense de ces 2 dernières années.

  Puisque la classe est aujourd’hui fermée, la maman de la copine nous explique que sur les ados vaccinés, c’est moins grave qu’un rhume, alors hop. (Je me demande encore pourquoi ils mettent des masques, du coup.)

Pour ceux qui ne sont pas à l’aise avec l’accent sudiste : le monsieur explique que, quand on est élu aux États-Unis, on est obligé de prêter serment sur la Bible. Lui a été élu plusieurs fois, et à chaque fois il a juré sur la Bible. Donc, « éthiquement », un élu ne peut pas être musulman, parce qu’il ne peut pas jurer sur la Bible.
Le journaliste : je ne sais pas si vous savez, mais on n’est pas obligé de jurer sur la Bible. On peut jurer sur ce qu’on veut.
Le gugusse : oh non, on doit jurer sur la Bible. C’est ce que j’ai fait à chaque fois…
Le journaliste : non, vraiment, ce n’est pas loi. Selon la loi, vous pouvez jurer sur ce que vous voulez. Vous ne le saviez pas peut-être.

  Because Ted Crockett is the former spokesman for Roy Moore. Yes, THAT Roy Moore. And during Roy Moore’s ill-fated attempt to get elected to the Senate, Crockett defended the worst of Moore’s racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, and yes, all the accusations of him spending his 30s sexually pursuing underage girls. In the process, Crockett taught us all a lot about him, as well, including his belief that homosexuality should be a crime.
  So, only a year later, Ted Crockett was running for the Alabama House of Representatives, and continued being a theocratic loon, including insisting that Muslims should not be allowed to run for public office, because they refuse to swear on a Bible… which CNN’s Jake Tapper had to point out to him that the law does not necessitate the book in question being a Bible, and it is chosen by the political figure. Upon learning this fact, Crockett was just completely befuddled.

To say that Mike Pence’s “no second wave” op-ed is going to be recorded as one of the most bassackwards statements in history is a given. But what’s shocking is that even Fauci’s prediction that was disturbing at the start of the month, looks like it could end up undershooting the real situation as badly as Pence did. The reasons for that are simple enough: We have governors who are willing to kill their people to score political points, we have a government determined to hide the truth of what’s happening, and we have people who are intentionally destroying their communities to own … whoever is left to care. And the result is that instead of 100,000 cases a day, the United States could be facing a million cases a day. Herd immunity, here we come … with half a million dead in tow.

First, we need to talk about the man who posted the twitter thread below. His name is Dror Etkes. He has previously worked with the Israeli human rights organizations Yesh Din and Peace Now. He now runs the non-profit Kerem Navot, which tracks Israel’s land policies in the West Bank. This is from a profile of Etkes a couple of years ago:
Since 1967, the settlements have grown into Israel’s greatest national project. Nearly a million Israeli citizens live beyond the Green Line, while their Palestinian neighbors live under military rule. A journey to the heart of the West Bank with Dror Etkes, the man who has dedicated the last two decades to monitoring the goings on in Israel’s backyard.
