Walt écrit ceci dans Foreign Policy, que nous avons cité dans le texte référencé, en mettant en évidence l’aspect grotesque de la situation où un secrétaire à la défense nommé par le président n’est quasiment pas interrogé, ni sur la stratégie du Pentagone, ni sur ses grands choix d’armement, ni sur ses grandes orientations, etc., – pour s’en tenir à “Israël, Israël, Israël”, – 166 fois… :
