Political parties that participated in a brainstorming session on the Kingdom’s nuclear programme released a list of recommendations on Sunday, expressing rejection of the projected nuclear plants.

Participants in the meeting, who represented 16 political parties, energy and environment organisations, as well as deputies, concluded that the government’s decision to set up nuclear plants near Qusayr Amra is purely political and had nothing to do with the country’s energy dilemma.

In their list of recommendations, participants also agreed to establish a coordination committee to organise a nationwide conference to discuss the consequences of the projected nuclear plants.

They also called for using all legal measures to halt the project’s implementation, including filing a lawsuit against the government’s plans to take the country into the “unknown” as well as gathering a million signatures opposing the nuclear programme.
