This is a Sisi constitution and it will hardly chart the course that the Sisi republic will pursue. This document should be seen as the product of the consensus among the constituent elements of the Sisi regime’s base. Nevertheless, given the record of the regime in increasing repression, it is likely that the regime base will only narrow over time and this constitution may be amended to reflect new realities and to provide the public and the press with material for discussion other than the violations of human rights by the maximum Pharaonic leader.
