The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) has just bought a private jet for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli media reported on Thursday.

“The PA has purchased a luxurious $50-million private jet to be used by Abbas,” Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

According to the broadcaster, the aircraft — set to be delivered “within weeks” — will be stationed in the Jordanian capital, Amman, for the Palestinian president’s personal use.

Funding for the plane was reportedly provided by the PA ($20 million) and the Palestinian National Fund ($30 million).

Algeria prohibits ‘immigration’ of doctors – Middle East Monitor

The National Council of the Deanship of Algerian Doctors issued instructions prohibiting all hospitals and health institutions from issuing work and good conduct certificates it immigrants.

These instructions coincided with the new facilities announced by France to Algerian doctors and the recognition of their certificates that will enable them to work abroad.

 Doctors were surprised by the instructions of the National Council of the Deanship, which requires the suspension of the granting of work and good conduct certificates for doctors and freezing the submission of files until the issuance of other instructions, without specifying the reasons behind this or the period of suspension.

Al-Shorouq reported that the number of Algerian doctors in France amounted to more than 15,000 which is equivalent to 25 per cent of the competent medical staff, in addition to doctors in various countries of the European Union.

Sudanese armed forces ready to ‘repel any threat’ from Eritrea border

Deputy Chairman of the Security and Defence Committee in the Sudanese Parliament, Brigadier Ibrahim Hamad Ali Al-Toum, said that it has detected military activity in Eritrea near Sudan’s eastern border.

General Al-Toum said Sudanese armed forces are ready to monitor and repel any threat there, adding that the border area is guarded and secured.

The Sudanese President Assistant Ibrahim Mahmoud said earlier that the government has decided to close border crossings with Eritrea over “potential threats” by Egypt and Eritrea.

The Swiss newspaper Basler Zeitung revealed the fact that there exists a “secret alliance” between Saudi Arabia and Israel, intended “to restrain Iran’s expansion in the region, despite the absence of any official relations between the two countries.”

“For the time being, Riyadh rejects any official normalization of relationships with Israel as long as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not resolved and normalization has not been publically declared by Arab countries and thus there will be no exchange of ambassadors,” said Pierre Heumann, the newspaper’s correspondent in Israel in his report.

“There is an intensive secret cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Israel in order to achieve the main goal of curbing Iran’s expansion project and undermining its regional ambitions,” said the reporter. He added that “there exists indeed military cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tel Aviv.”

The reporter quoted unidentified sources from Riyadh as saying “the Kingdom is currently considering the possibility to purchase Israeli weapons and it has shown an interest in purchasing defence systems for the tanks and the iron dome, which Israel claims has proven to be effective in countering rocket attacks from Gaza Strip.(...) ”

#Swedish ship to be sent to #Gaza in May 2018 to help break decade-long blockade

The boat they already bought has been named after the prominent Irish activist Mairead Maguire from Northern Ireland, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976.

Maguire took part in several voyages aimed at breaking the siege; she was on board the Mavi Marmara in 2010 when Israeli commandos boarded the ship and killed nine Turks.

Spokeswoman for the Ship to Gaza Foundation, Ellen Hansson added that the small vessels taking part in the campaign will be launched from France while the big ones will head to Gaza via the ocean.

She pointed out that the International Freedom Flotilla also intends to join the campaign.

Hansson denounced the US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel saying, “This decision will bring tears, not peace, to Jerusalem.”

A member of the Christian-Islamic Committee in support of Jerusalem and the Holy Places, Father Manuel Musallam, has called for the Palestinian resistance groups not to give up their weapons, and to retain them until Palestinians receive their full rights and freedom.

Speaking to Shehab news agency, Father Musallam said that the Palestinian people have two demands: the first is national reconciliation among the Palestinian factions to preserve Jerusalem and all holy places, “which is demanded by the various religions and groups and is fundamental.”

The second demand, he added, is to keep the resistance weapons to protect Palestine and the Palestinian people, as well as the Palestinian reconciliation. He described any attempt to remove the weapons as “treachery”.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Fatah signed a reconciliation agreement in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Thursday. Israel insists on Hamas laying down and surrendering its arms.

This has not been a good week for Israel, especially in Britain, where the Zionist lobbyists have spent millions in recent years oiling the cogs in Westminster to persuade politicians of all stripes to give their unconditional support to their favourite state. It has worked rather well for them, with Labour Party leaders like Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband joining their counterparts in the Tory Party as “Friends of Israel” along with the majority of their ministers and shadow ministers.

However, after this week’s triumphant Labour Party conference in Brighton it looks as if the pro-Israel lobby has lost its grip on the party led by Jeremy Corbyn. If anyone had any doubt that the Zionist influence has all but gone, it was dispelled by the Labour leader’s speech.

“And let’s give real support to end the oppression of the Palestinian people, the 50-year occupation and illegal settlement expansion and move to a genuine two-state solution of the Israel-Palestine conflict,” Corbyn roared. “Britain’s voice needs to be heard independently in the world,” he added to cheers from around the conference hall. As if to reinforce that this was not some sentence thrown in at random, Corbyn fired a warning shot to Israel’s greatest friends in Washington for good measure: “We must be a candid friend to the United States, now more than ever.”

Selon le journal libanais al-Akhbar, le ministre libanais des AE, Joubrane Bassil s’était informé bien avant le départ de la délégation libanaise vers la capitale saoudienne s’il y aurait un communiqué final, pour décider d’avancer s’il allait y participer. La réponse des responsables saoudiens qui lui a été donnée est qu’ils s’en tiendraient exclusivement au communiqué publié au terme de la rencontre qui a réuni les pays du Golfe aux Etats-Unis.

Le Premier ministre Libanais Saad Hariri lui aussi donnait la même réponse à ceux qui le lui demandaient à Beyrouth.

Toujours est-il, indique al-Akhbar, dès son arrivée à Ryad, M. Bassil a de nouveau interrogé son homologue saoudien Adel al-Jubeir et obtenu la même réponse.

Ce n’est qu’au terme du sommet et après le départ de la délégation libanaise que des flashs d’information ont commencé à rendre compte d’une Déclaration de Ryad.

« Il s’avère aussi que les responsables saoudiens ne l’ont publié qu’après le départ de toutes les délégations qui étaient conviées », au sommet, estime un membre de la délégation libanaise. Selon lui certains pays arabes ou islamiques n’auraient pu admettre laisser passer un texte pareil qui s’en prend nommément contre la République islamique d’Iran et en appelle à l’isoler, à l’instar de l’Algérie, du Pakistan, du Sénégal, et de l’Irak lesquels entretiennent de bonnes relations avec l’Iran.
