More than 2,757 rhinos have been poached in South Africa since 2010, and experts have warned that the wild animals face extinction by 2025 as a result. South Africa is home to more than 80% of the world’s remaining rhino population.

China accounted for nearly 80% of the reported seizures of illegal rhino horns in Asia between 2009 and 2013, despite a national ban on the illicit trade.
