Then, the Wall Street Journal carried a feature on HandUp, a “crowdfunding app for the homeless,” which just raised $850,000. Yes, $850,000. From the article: “...HandUp investor Evan Burfield noted that while HandUp is a public benefit corporation, the company faces a ‘massive market opportunity.’”

We are gravely concerned with the growing trend of #Silicon_Valley techies explicitly targeting structural oppression as a “market opportunity” for their financial benefit. Gee, wonder what could go wrong?
