Anwar Al-Awlaki may be the first American on the CIA’s kill or capture list, but he was also a lunch guest of military brass at the Pentagon within months of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Fox News has learned.
Documents exclusively obtained by Fox News, including an FBI interview conducted after the Fort Hood shooting in November 2009, state that Awlaki was taken to the Pentagon as part of the military’s outreach to the Muslim community in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.

L’imam radical américano-yéménite Anwar al-Aulaqi, placé par Washington sur sa liste de cibles à assassiner en raison de ses liens présumés avec Al-Qaïda, a été invité à un déjeuner au Pentagone dans les mois qui ont suivi le 11-Septembre, selon un responsable américain.
L’imam a été invité au Pentagone dans le cadre des efforts du bureau du secrétaire à la Défense de l’époque pour établir un contact avec la communauté musulmane après les attentats du 11 septembre 2001, a indiqué mercredi à l’AFP le colonel Dave Lapan, un porte-parole de l’armée.
