BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — An Israeli military court has brought 12 charges against Palestinian lawmaker Khalida Jerrar in connection to her membership of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, an international rights group said.

Having been detained and interrogated since Apr. 2, Jerrar was charged by the Israeli military prosecution on Wednesday, according to a report released Friday by Amnesty International.

Charges included membership of an illegal organization, participation in protests, and incitement to kidnap Israeli soldiers.

A review of the charges against her will take place on Apr. 29, the report said.

Jerrar’s defense team argued there was no basis to the incitement charge and that it was vindictive, according to Amnesty’s report.

BEERSHEBA (Ma’an) — Israeli bulldozers demolished homes in the Bedouin village of al-Araqib village in the Negev for the 83rd time on Monday, in addition to a home in the Negev village of Atir, local activists said.

Israeli police reportedly imposed a blockade on al-Araqib before carrying out the demolitions.

Activist Aziz Siyah Abu Mdeighem told Ma’an: “They smile to us after they demolish our homes and ask mockingly, ’How are you?’”

“It is disrespectful to Palestinians,” he said, “We will stay here even if they demolish al-Araqib 100 times.”

Meanwhile, in Atir in northeastern Hura in the Negev, bulldozers escorted by Israeli police demolished a home in which a family of 12 had been living.

Ibrahim al-Afinsh, who owned the house, said the people of Atir and of the Negev would never give up their rights to their lands.

The activist Abu Mdeighem called on Israel “to respect the law, as they claim their country is democratic.”

The activist said that demolitions in al-Araqib continue to take place, even after the Israeli Higher Court of Justice ruled that al-Araqib’s lands do not belong to the state.

Hébron (Territoires palestiniens) - Un Palestinien a été tué et deux autres blessés par l’armée israélienne près de Hébron, dans le sud de la Cisjordanie occupée, lors de l’enterrement d’un Palestinien récemment libéré d’une prison israélienne, ont indiqué des sources médicales palestiniennes.

Zyad Awad, 30 ans, est mort après avoir été touché dans le dos lors d’affrontements qui se sont produits au cours des funérailles d’un proche parent, Jaafar Awad, décédé à 23 ans peu après sa sortie de prison, a-t-on ajouté de même source.

Le cortège funéraire s’est mué en manifestation de colère car les Palestiniens accusent Israël d’être responsable de la mort de Jaafar Awad, tombé grièvement malade dans une prison israélienne.

Lors du défilé de milliers d’habitants de la localité de Beit Omar près de Hébron, certains ont jeté des pierres sur les soldats israéliens qui ont répliqué avec des grenades lacrymogènes, des balles caoutchoutées puis des balles réelles, selon des témoins.

Le nom du martyr Jaafar Awad vient s’ajouter à la longue liste des victimes des négligences médicales de l’occupant à l’encontre des prisonniers palestiniens, a accusé Issa Qaraqe, en charge de la question des prisonniers au sein de l’Autorité palestinienne, dans un communiqué.

HEBRON (Ma’an) — A Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli forces on Friday at the funeral for his cousin in the town of Beit Ummar near Hebron.

Ziyad Awad, 27, was killed by Israeli forces and three others injured when soldiers opened fire on mourners at the funeral of Jaafar Awad, 22, who died at 2:45 a.m. Friday morning from health complications that rapidly deteriorated while being held in Israeli prison.

Medical sources told Ma’an that Jaafar had succumbed to the illness at the al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron.

Three Palestinians were injured with live fire while 10 others were injured with rubber-coated steel bullets. Dozens of other funeral attendees suffered from excessive tear-gas inhalation.

An Israeli army spokeswoman told Ma’an that she was detained for being the leader of a ’terrorist organization’, and had encouraged ’terror activities’ in recent weeks.

Head of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, Fares Qaddura, denounced Jarrar’s arrest as a “revengeful act” carried out after she refused to agree to an Israeli army decision to relocate her from the Ramallah district to Jericho.

Israeli authorities issued the order last August.

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — Israel and Rwanda are working to finalize a multimillion dollar deal that would relocate hundreds of African asylum seekers living in Israel to Rwanda, Israeli media reported Friday.

According to Israeli news site Ynet, Rwandan President Paul Kagame said on Thursday that a deal was being worked out, and Israeli Interior Minister Gilad Erdan later confirmed the report.

Through the agreement, Israel will deport hundreds of Eritrean and Sudanese asylum seekers to both Rwanda and Uganda, with Rwanda receiving millions in grants and sales from Israel.

Selon des sources médicales et des sources de sécurité palestiniennes, il avait été atteint à la poitrine par des tirs de soldats israéliens le 18 mars. Une porte-parole de l’armée israélienne avait indiqué qu’il se trouvait parmi une cinquantaine de Palestiniens qui lançaient des pierres contre les soldats.

HEBRON (Ma’an) — A Palestinian who was injured after falling while trying to climb over the Israeli separation wall last week died of his wounds on Wednesday.

Akram Mahmoud Mohammad Abd al-Hamid Al-Hroub, from Deir Samit village southwest of Hebron, fell off the wall while he was trying to scale it in order to cross into Israel for work.

The incident occurred near al-Ram village east of Jerusalem.

Following the fall, he was taken to al-Makased hospital in Jerusalem with serious injuries.

He subsequently underwent several operations before succumbing to his wounds on Wednesday.

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) — President Mahmoud Abbas received a delegation from the Arab Joint List in the presidency headquarters in Ramallah Tuesday evening.

The delegation included head of Arab Joint List Ayman Odeh, and members Masoud Ghanayim, Jamal Zahalqa, and Usama al-Saadi.

Member of the Fatah movement’s central committee, Muhammad al-Madani, also attended the meeting.

Abbas congratulated the delegation on their 14-seat win in the 20th Israeli Knesset elections that took place earlier this month, and the delegation applauded the President’s efforts and his persistence to national rights.

The Joint List, an alliance formed by four Arab parties — United Arab List, Ta’al, Balad and Hadash — was the first time parties representing Palestinian citizens in Israel have joined forces.

NABLUS (Ma’an) — Settlers uprooted over 60 olive trees in the central West Bank on Thursday, a Palestinian official said.

Settlers from the Adei Ad outpost south of Nablus uprooted the trees on land belonging to Hajj Mahmoud al-Araj in the village of Turmusaya.

Attacks on olive trees are a key way that Palestinians are forced out of their homes and their lands confiscated for settlement construction, as the loss of a year’s crop can signal destitution for many.

BEIRUT (AFP) — The Islamic State released a video Tuesday purporting to show a young boy executing a Palestinian citizen of Israel who it claimed infiltrated the group in Syria to spy for Israel.

In the video, a youth identifying himself as 19-year-old Mohammed Said Ismail Musallam recounts how he was recruited by Israeli intelligence.

Dressed in an orange jumpsuit that is standard in videos of IS executions, he is shown kneeling in front of the boy, who appears to be no more than 12 years old, and a man standing at his side.

The man, speaking in French, issues threats against Jews in France, before the boy walks around in front of the hostage before shooting him in the forehead with a pistol.

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) – Israeli naval forces shot and killed a Palestinian fisherman, and arrested two others while they were sailing in small fishing boats off the coast south of Gaza City early Saturday morning.

Speaker of the union of Gaza fishermen Nizar Ayyash told Ma’an that Israeli gunboats opened machine gun fire at a group of Palestinian fishermen. Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra confirmed to Ma’an that Tawfiq Abu Riyala died from injuries sustained by the fire.

Ayyash added that Israeli navy then seized two fishing boats and took them to unknown destination.

An Israeli army spokeswoman told Ma’an that after four vessels deviated from the fishing zone this morning, Israeli forces ordered the vessels to halt. Warning shots were fired towards the engines of the vessels, and two hits were confirmed. Two of the vessels were detained by Israeli forces, the other two turning back.

Deux autres pêcheurs palestiniens, qui se trouvaient sur le même bateau attaqué par la marine israélienne, ont été arrêtés et transférés en Israël, a ajouté le porte-parole Achraf al-Qodra. Le Palestinien blessé a été transporté à Gaza à bord d’un autre bateau de pêcheurs palestiniens, a-t-on ajouté de même source.

Les 4.000 pêcheurs de Gaza sont soumis comme le reste du territoire au blocus imposé par Israël au nom de sa sécurité. Aux termes d’un accord de cessez-le-feu entre Israël et les Palestiniens mettant fin à la guerre de juillet-août 2014, les pêcheurs de Gaza sont autorisés à opérer dans une bande de six milles nautiques (11 km) le long des côtes. Jihad Shehada al-Jaafari , who was shot and killed during a dawn arrest raid in Duheisha refugee camp.

Mourners received the body of the teenager in Duheisha camp after an autopsy in Al-Quds University’s forensic medicine unit.

The body was then taken for burial at the Martyrs Cemetery south of Bethlehem in Artas.

Al-Jaafari’s father told Ma’an that his son lay bleeding for an hour and a half on the rooftop where he was shot before anyone had realized what happened.

“His mother called him an hour before he was killed telling him to come back home, but he never did.”

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Hundreds of Palestinians were evacuated from their homes Sunday morning after Israeli authorities opened a number of dams near the border, flooding the Gaza Valley in the wake of a recent severe winter storm.

The Gaza Ministry of Interior said in a statement that civil defense services and teams from the Ministry of Public Works had evacuated more than 80 families from both sides of the Gaza Valley (Wadi Gaza) after their homes flooded as water levels reached more than three meters.

Gaza has experienced flooding in recent days amid a major storm that saw temperatures drop and frigid rain pour down.

The storm displaced dozens and caused hardship for tens of thousands, including many of the approximately 110,000 Palestinians left homeless by Israel’s assault over summer.

The suffering is compounded by the fact that Israel has maintained a complete siege over Gaza for the last eight years, severely limiting electricity and the availability of fuel for generators. It has also prevented the displaced from rebuilding their homes, as construction materials are largely banned from entering.

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Deputy head of Hamas Mousa Abu Marzouk says the last visit to Gaza by international Quartet envoy Tony Blair came to notify the Hamas movement of a new set of preconditions before the war-torn coastal enclave could be rebuilt.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Abu Marzouk said that Blair’s remarks were completely different from what he used to propose when he served as the UK prime minister.

“In January 2009, Blair admitted he was mistaken and explained then that Hamas was a major player in the conflict and in the peace process. He didn’t then talk about the Quartet’s three preconditions of recognition of Israel, renouncing violence and accepting what the Palestinians have already signed, but rather he spoke of appropriate preconditions,” argued Abu Marzouk.

Al-Ghorbah – (الغربة) l’exil, la douleur de l’absence, d’être ailleurs – est un de ces mots qui sont tellement partagés d’un bout à l’autre du monde arabophone qu’on les retrouve dans d’innombrables créations artistiques. Dans la chanson en particulier, aussi bien au Maghreb qu’au Machrek, c’est le titre de plus d’un morceau. Parmi les plus récents (2012), une composition du groupe Torabyeh (ترابية : tempête de sable), cinq rappeurs vivant à Amman depuis que leur famille a dû quitter la Palestine, en 1948 pour certains d’entre eux.

On en parle dans la presse arabe parce que le Likoud israélien n’a rien trouvé de mieux que d’utiliser ce morceau comme bande son d’un des clips de campagne de son leader Benyamin Nétanyahou. Comme l’explique cet article de 972mag, un site (anglophone) particulièrement intéressant sur la question palestinienne, il s’agit en gros de convaincre les électeurs israéliens que « voter à gauche, c’est voter Isis » (à savoir l’Etat islamique, ou encore Daesh). GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — A Palestinian infant died and three others were injured in a fire that broke out in al-Shawa school which holds a number of Gazan refugees in Beit Hanoun northern Gaza Strip.

Ministry of health spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said that Ezzedin Jad al-Kafarneh died in the fire which was caused by an electrical short, and his father and two brothers were also injured.

Thousands of Palestinians still live in UNRWA-run refugee centers since the Israeli war on Gaza last summer.

Après 44 jours d’incarcération dans une prison du régime sioniste, Malak al-Khatib, 14 ans, a été libérée ce matin et rendue à sa famille, qui l’attendait au checkpoint Jabara, à Tulkarem. Elle avait été arrêtée le 31 décembre dernier près de son école à Beitin (Ramallah) pour de prétendus jets de pierre sur les forces d’occupation. Le tribunal militaire d’Ofer l’a condamnée à 2 mois de prison et à une amende de 1.528$.
Le Centre Ahrar pour les Prisonniers avait lancé une grande campagne de soutien à Malak et de pression sur les autorités pour sa libération.
