Malgré l’incertitude, les Burundais ont « beaucoup d’espoir »
Le Burundi a connu une journée sous haute tension, mercredi 13 mai. Les femmes ont ouvert le bal en défilant dans le centre-ville de Bujumbura, afin de s’opposer à la candidature du président Pierre Nkurunziza à un troisième mandat, avant qu’un général n’annonce la destitution de ce dernier à la radio. BUJUMBURA, 14 mai 2015 (IRIN) - Ce mercredi, le major-général Godefroid Niyombare a annoncé le renversement du président burundais Pierre Nkurunziza, suite à la déclaration controversée de ce dernier de briguer un troisième mandat. Cette proclamation, qui a tout d’un coup d’État, intervient après près de deux semaines de manifestations à Bujumbura, la capitale du Burundi, alors que M. Nkurunziza participait à un sommet en Tanzanie.

Burundi’s Coup from Within
Burundi’s Major General Godefroid Niyombare said in a statement on 13 May 2015 that he had removed President Pierre Nkurunziza from office because he was seeking an unconstitutional third five-year term. While Nkurunziza claims that the coup has failed, Niyombare says he is working with civil society groups to form a transitional government. We talk to Crisis Group Central Africa Project Director Thierry Vircoulon about the unfolding developments.

Un coup d’Etat orchestré dans les coulisses du pouvoir
Le général burundais Godefroid Niyombaré a déclaré destituer le président Pierre Nkurunziza de ses fonctions présidentielles le 13 mai 2015 car ce dernier était candidat pour un troisième mandat en violation de la Constitution.
