Relatives of Kurdish coronavirus victim blame death on frail Iraqi health system - Rudaw
More than 30,000 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Iraq so far, and more than 1,100 people have lost their lives. Baghdad’s hospitals are full and health workers warn the situation has gotten out of control.
Doctors across the country have said the facilities they work at are overstretched, and the construction of field hospitals is not proving enough to absorb the influx of new cases.
One Baghdad health worker partly blamed the spike in cases on the public’s failure to adhere to health guidelines.
