Watchdog group sues NYPD over sentiment data-tracking records

The Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (STOP), a nonprofit hosted by the Urban Justice Center that is dedicated to advocating against state-sponsored surveillance, today filed suit with Debevoise & Plimpton against the New York Police Department (NYPD). The suit alleges the NYPD refused to disclose records from surveillance it used to track public sentiment about the department.
