19-year-old killed in Israeli Arab town of Umm al-Fahm; third murder in five days
A manhunt for the suspect is underway as tensions between locals, Israel police intensify due to ongoing criminal violence in Arab majority cities

A 19-year-old resident of Umm al-Fahm was shot to death during the early hours of Tuesday morning, in the third murder in the Arab-Israeli city since last Friday.
Israel Police are investigating the murder of the teen, Mustafa Baderan , and a manhunt is underway for the shooter.
40-year-old resident Mohammad Taufik Haboub was shot on Tuesday while walking down the street. He was taken to the Emek Medical Center in Afula in critical condition and was later pronounced dead. Police are still searching for the shooters.
Tarek Agbaria , a 42-year-old city resident, was shot in his vehicle last Friday. He was shot at close range in front of his wife and children who were in the car with him. They were returning home from the hospital after his wife gave birth. Agbaria was mortally wounded, and died later at the hospital.
Agbaria, a doctor who managed a nursing home in the city, is the fifth person in his family to be killed within the past two years. The police have opened an investigation into the case, and it is believed that his murder was criminal in nature.
This comes amid ongoing tension between Umm al-Fahm residents and police, whom residents have long claimed have been neglectful of crime in Arab society.
In addition, the municipality Umm al-Fahm declared a general strike and a day of mourning after a 17-year-old resident was shot by police during violent unrest among Israeli Jews and Arabs following Operation Guardians of the Walls. Police are investigating the incident.
