Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza journalist and activist Wafa Ali Al-Udaini was killed along with her husband and their two children following an Israeli air strike on their home in Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza earlier on Monday, according to local media reports.

Monir her husband, Balsam, and Tamim, her children, were killed in the Israeli airstrike.

Through her words and actions, Wafa stood as both a storyteller and a symbol of the Palestinian struggle for freedom.

“I am a journalist, but I am also a refugee. My parents were expelled from their village in Palestine, which is now in Israel,” she said.

“Being a journalist in Gaza is not easy, because every single day, you are subjected to (the possibility) of being killed, injured, or arrested by the Israeli occupation forces. In fact, many journalists were murdered by Israeli fire this way.”

More than 174 Palestinian journalists have been killed since the start of the Israeli genocide war on Gaza on October 7, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

Israel’s war on Gaza has been considered the deadliest for journalists and media workers in the world in 30 years.

The International Federation of Journalists said the mortality rate for media workers in Gaza is over 10 percent.

Seventy-five percent of all reporters killed in the world in 2023 were killed between October 7 and the end of last year.
