The Poison Garden
Established in 2005 by the Duchess of Northumberland. The garden contains over 100 deadly and hallucinogenic plants.

  The garden was set up by Charles Jencks, together with his late wife Maggie Keswick and is located at Portrack House near Dumfries. That’s in Scotland, by the way! It was set up in 1989 without the usual ideas people have when they create a garden. Horticultural displays very much take second place in this garden. Instead, it is designed with ideas in mind – and to provoke thought (or at least speculation) about the very nature of things.

  Les Jardins de Bomarzo, appelés aussi Parc des monstres (Parco dei Mostri en italien), sont un complexe monumental situé dans la commune de Bomarzo dans la province de Viterbe au nord du Latium en Italie
  Les Jardins de Bomarzo sont les jardins les plus extravagants de la Renaissance italienne. Ils se composent d’un parc boisé, situé au fond d’une vallée dominée par le château des Orsini, et peuplée de sculptures, de petits bâtiments et d’ornements architecturaux tels que des vasques, urnes ou obélisques répartis au milieu de la végétation naturelle.
  Aussi bien l’histoire de la création des jardins que l’interprétation des sculptures et des textes gravés, ici et là dans le parc, sont aujourd’hui encore sujettes à controverses entre les historiens.

Containing work by today’s leading sculptors and land artists, this amazing garden of discovery re-opens to the public today for a short time.   Les jardins suspendus de Marqueyssac

  Situé dans la vallée de la Dordogne et surplombant ses falaises de sa majestueuse présence, le Château de Marqueyssac est un château du 17ème siècle construit à Vézac par Bertrand Vernet de Marqueyssac, conseiller du roi Louis XIV. Mais ce qui fait la renommée du lieu sont les magnifiques jardins à la française, attribué à un élève de André Le Nôtre et qui présente terrasses, allées et un potager entourant le jardin.
  Dans les années 1860, le nouveau propriétaire Julien de Cervel a commencé à planter des milliers de buis (aujourd’hui il y en a plus de 150.000) et les a sculpté dans des formes fantastiques, notamment en utilisant les formes arrondies, comme s’il s’agissait par exemple de troupeaux de moutons. Il a également ajouté des tilleuls, des cyprès, des pins parasols d’Italie et des cyclamens de Naples.
