We all know that, on average, women earn less than men. This astonishing map based on European statistics sheds light on just how big the gap between gender pay levels is.
The map shows places where the gender pay gap is higher in dark blue, and places where it is lower in white.

In Europe, generally one of the world’s most equal continents, the pay gap is still a major problem. According to the European Commission the average gender pay gap within the EU is around 16%. That means that for every £1 a man in the European Union earns, a woman will earn just 84p.

Remarquez qu’il s’agit de la différence entre les salaires horaires moyens des hommes et des femmes.
Et donc ajoutez la différence temps de travail (beaucoup plus de temps partiel chez les femmes) et cela dans la totalité des régions de l’UE.
On average, people in the EU-28 worked 37.2 hours per week in 2014. A closer analysis by sex reveals that women worked an average of 33.6 hours, compared with 40.2 hours for men, resulting in a difference of 6.6 hours per week between the sexes; this is not surprising given that a higher proportion of women worked on a part-time basis.

16% c’est un pay gap de l’heure au plan européen ; à quoi s’ajoutent moins d’heures de travail payé, et moins de temps de travail payé sur toute une vie (avec des conséquences aussi sur la retraite), ce qui donne :
