    Paris - Google lance jeudi un nouveau fonds, doté de 150 millions d’euros, pour financer des projets numériques innovants dans la presse européenne, a annoncé à l’AFP son directeur Ludovic Blecher, poursuivant ainsi son offensive de charme vers les médias d’actualité.

    Baptisé « #Digital_News_Initiative », ce fonds ouvert aux candidats de 32 pays européens sur 3 ans permet aux éditeurs d’information de toute taille, et même à des individus, de proposer leurs projets. Les dossiers peuvent être envoyés, via un site web créé pour l’occasion, jusqu’au 4 décembre et les lauréats seront annoncés en février. Au moins deux sessions d’appels à projets sont prévues chaque année.

    C’est parti, plus que 6 semaines pour monter les dossiers.

      Governance
      Applications to the DNI Innovation Fund will be reviewed by a Project Team and a Council.

      In both the Project Team and the Council, there will be a mix of Googlers and external experts from the European news industry and beyond to reflect diverse points of view. The project team will review all applications, interview applicants and make a recommendation on funding for prototypes and medium projects. The council will vote on large projects.

      The Council is responsible for oversight of the DNI Innovation Fund.

      Et pour finir, les seuils

      Fast track for Prototype Project: a Project w here the funds applied for are EUR 50,000 or less.
      Medium Project: a Project w here the funds applied for are in excess of EUR 50,000 but below or equal to EUR 300,000.
      Large Project : a Project where the funds applied for are in excess of EUR 300,000.

      L’équipe de projet (Team Project) décide pour les petits projets ("prototype", financé jusqu’à 100%) et les projets moyens (financé jusqu’à 70%).
      Le conseil vote pour les gros projets.

      Tout ce petit monde propose et le Google Team prend la décision finale.

      All Projects recommended by the Project Team and the Council shall be submitted for final approval by the Google Team. The Google Team must approve all project funding and the Google Team’s decision of whether to award funds (and the amount of funds to award) shall be final.

      Et donc, le Google Team :

      Google Team: shall consist of Google Group representatives based in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) including a representative from Google Ireland Limited.
