Il fait des conneries, des dettes et on ne peut pas lui piquer l’oseille. Plus à lui. Sa meuf se casse… Pas de pognon, chérie. Tu le vois le filou. Personne !!! Pas même des compagnies, des juridictions étrangères, toussa. Enfin personne sauf l’état américain pour des raisons de défense nationale qui surveille comme dab. Héhé. Donc… finalement… d’une certaine manière… sur le mode à la cool de l’América… en douce… en dehors des traités internationaux, toussa, machin… on pourrait dire que… de facto… Facebook est presque… nationalisé.

The more money billionaires give to their charitable foundations, which in most cases remain under their personal control, the more influence they will accumulate. And relatively speaking, anyway, the less influence everybody else will have.

So what are the tax implications? They are quite generous to Mr. Zuckerberg. I asked Victor Fleischer, a law professor and tax specialist at the University of San Diego School of Law, as well as a contributor to DealBook. He explained that if the L.L.C. sold stock, Mr. Zuckerberg would pay a hefty capital gains tax, particularly if Facebook stock kept climbing.

If the L.L.C. donated to a charity, he would get a deduction just like anyone else. That’s a nice little bonus. But the L.L.C. probably won’t do that because it can do better. The savvier move, Professor Fleischer explained, would be to have the L.L.C. donate the appreciated shares to charity, which would generate a deduction at fair market value of the stock without triggering any tax.

the Chan-Zuckerbergs have not pledged to donate anything. They’ve pledged to “give away” the huge majority of their Facebook shares, which is easy to mistake as the same thing. But the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is not a non-profit. It’s a limited liability company [*LLC] and it’s owned by Mark Zuckerberg. The Initiative is not obligated to donate anything to anyone. When the Chan-Zuckerbergs say they will “give away” their wealth, that *includes “giving it away” by investing in for-profit corporations, primarily ones focused on education technology: $5 million to MasteryConnect and $15 million to AltSchool last month alone.

What I will say is that Mark Zuckerberg is smart. As a non-profit professional, I caution against the blurring of lines between true charities and for-profit companies whose products happen to make our lives a little easier or provide some amount of social value. But as a Facebook advertiser, I also open my arms wide and welcome the masses back to a seemingly trustworthy Facebook. Go ahead, tell Facebook everything about yourself—I’ve got a great ad to show you.
