Several bangs in the doors from Serge, leading the civilian team from the prefecture: “Good morning — you have one hour to be out of here.”
This is the same Serge who had told Channel 4 News (on camera) on Friday: “Pas de bulldozers,” or “there won’t be any bulldozers”.
On Friday, there were interpreters kneeling down and speaking in Arabic. Not now. Serge and his officials were fringed by riot cops. No chit chat, just deliver the “get up and get out” message and move on.

Confrontational? Yes, and inevitably so once this tactic was deployed. Violent? Not in the way it could easily have been or may yet become.
