Migrant deal at risk as Turkey deemed unsafe by Greek court

Despite the return on Friday of 51 refugees and migrants of different nationalities to Turkey under the European Union’s deal with Ankara to contain the influx of migrants to Greece, a court on Lesvos had earlier deemed Turkey an “unsafe third country,” threatening the agreement’s further implementation.

A Syrian national who arrived on the Greek island of Lesvos has won an appeal against a decision that would have led to his forcible return to Turkey, underscoring the fundamental flaws in the migration deal agreed in March between the European Union and Turkey, Amnesty International said.

Va in frantumi l’accordo Unione Europea-Turchia ma i migranti rimangono intrappolati nel fango di Idomeni e fanno lo sciopero della fame a Chios, mentre l’Europa rialza i muri.
Va in frantumi l’accordo Unione Europea-Turchia, la Turchia minaccia di cancellarlo se non otterrà visti di ingresso in Europa per i propri cittadini. In Grecia si limitano le riammissioni in Turchia e si stabilisce che la Turchia non è «un paese terzo sicuro».

Migrants : l’accord UE-Turquie fragilisé
La justice grecque a donné raison à un demandeur d’asile syrien détenu à Lesbos en considérant qu’il ne pouvait pas être renvoyé en Turquie, car ce pays n’était pas sûr. Une décision qui pourrait faire bouger les lignes.
