Ah, on n’avait pas encore vu de renard volant à tête grise sur seenthis, voilà c’est fait. Faut en profiter parce que ça va pas durer.
“A Grey-headed Flying-fox (GHFF), Pteropus poliocephalus, takes a dip in the Yarra river (Victoria, Australia) on a very hot day,” writes Your Shot photographer Doug Gimesy. “GHFF’s dip their chest in water to both gather water on their fur - which they will then lap off to drink - as well as to provide a form of evaporative cooling. One of their biggest threats is heat-stress events - and with climate change, they are now under increasing stress. When it gets too hot however, sadly they can’t even fly to do this and cool down.”
