Face aux bouleversements du monde en cours et à venir, le #développement_durable, entre géo-ingénierie contreproductive et tout-électrique mal pensé, crée de nombreux futurs obsolètes. Émergent alors les #contremodèles de la #décroissance et de la #sobriété_heureuse, nettement mieux alignés avec le monde qui vient. Mais la #frugalité peut-elle réellement mobiliser ? Ne risque-t-elle pas non plus de se réduire à d’autres formes d’#optimisation ? Et si, pour être sobre et durable, il fallait d’abord questionner une valeur nettement plus profonde : l’efficacité. Le monde très fluctuant qui vient appelle un changement de civilisation. Ce chemin demande surtout de valoriser nos points faibles et inverse toutes les recettes.

The new study, led by the universities of Pennsylvania and Exeter and published in the journal Science, shows the storm damage altered the evolutionary benefits of tolerating others and sharing shade – giving a survival advantage to tolerant macaques.
With many ecosystems changing rapidly due to human activity, this study is an example of a species adapting its social strategy to survive.
“In response to the drastic changes caused by the hurricane, macaques persistently increased tolerance and decreased aggression towards each other,” said Dr Camille Testard, from the University of Pennsylvania.
