Originally published on MakerpadThis is a simple way to use the Pocket Chrome Extension as a way for you to easily save articles you come across on Desktop and Mobile (via Chrome browser obviously) to an evolving Google Document which you can use for populating a weekly/daily newsletter. In the version I’ll describe, we are going to add all the entries (automatically) to #airtable as a mini-database and way to reference back/add filters/tags/etc. But you can just skip the Airtable step altogether and link Pocket Chrome Extension to Google Docs directly. I’ll be using #zapier to perform all the automatic tasks involved here.First, you need to download the Pocket Chrome Extension. Take it for a quick spin and see what it looks like when you go to a webpage and click the Pocket icon to save a (...)

A series about taking code apart.CodeSandbox is awesome. It’s an entire IDE (integrated development environment) for web apps that runs inside your browser. The best thing about it though, is that it’s open source. And the best thing about open source projects is that we can learn from their source code.In this series I’ll be tearing down the code that makes CodeSandbox great in order to find some tips that you can use on your own projects. Kind of like ifixit, but for #javascript.Part 1: Send user feedback to Airtable using ReactPart 2: Honour your users Do Not Track browser settings in React (coming soon)Part 3: Use Cerebral and MobX to manage complex application logic in React (coming soon)Part 4: Use “template classes” to group data and functionality together (coming soon)Tear it down! We’ll be (...)
