Atari may have been instrumental in the genesis of arcade and home video gaming, but by the time the 1990s rolled around, its glory days were arguably long behind it. The video crash of 1983 had effectively killed the ’old’ Atari, with parent company Warner Communications offloading the consumer electronics and home computer divisions to former Commodore boss Jack Tramiel in 1984 – an event which led to the birth of the new ‘Atari Corporation’.

Spätestens wenn das ROM versagt und man ein Ersatz benötigt, stellt sich die Frage, woher nehme ich ein geeignetes TOS ROM-Image? Genau aus diesem Grund habe ich hier eine Sammlung nahezu aller veröffentlichten TOS Versionen zusammengetragen und übersichtlich geordnet. Ich möchte mit diesem Backupservice den verbliebenen Atari-Anwendern weiterhin die Möglichkeit geben ihrem Hobby nachzugehen. Sollte ein bestimmtes TOS ROM -Image noch fehlen, dann würde ich mich über die Einsendung natürlich freuen.
