With only a drawing of a map for guidance, a piece of mail was successfully delivered to a farm in West Iceland
Iceland may be one of the top tourist destinations at the moment, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost the small island feel. Case in point: A letter was mailed to a farm in Hvammsveit, West Iceland, that bore just a hand-drawn map instead of an address—and it still made it.
A picture of the peculiar piece of mail popped up on a Reddit thread on August 30 with the caption, “Without an address, an Icelandic tourist drew this map of the intended location (Búðardalur) and surroundings on the envelope. The postal service delivered!” The envelope included the country, village name, and the line “A horse farm with an Icelandic/Danish couple and three kids and a lot of sheep.” There was also an additional identifier on the lower right hand corner that read, “The Danish woman works in a supermarket in Búðardalur.”
