    Myanmar swine flu outbreak kills 10 as Government rushed to stop spread - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

    Ten people have died in an outbreak of #H1N1 influenza in Myanmar, a health official has said, as the Government stepped up public awareness campaigns about the swine flu virus.

    The latest outbreak began more than a week ago, deputy director of the infectious diseases department at the Ministry of Health and Sport, Thinzar Aung, said.

    Yangon — Myanmar’s biggest city — is the worst affected area.

    Health awareness campaigns have been carried out and authorities sought to calm public fears over the outbreak, although stores have sold out of surgical masks in Yangon.

    Authorities have told the public not to panic and described the latest outbreak as a regular seasonal occurrence.

    One of the particularities of the movement calling itself the Islamic State is its investment in the phantasmagorical. It has an instinctive understanding of the value of taking its struggle to the realm of the imagination as the best way to compensate for its real-world limits. Even as it faces setbacks on the battlefield, it has made forays into our collective psyche, where its brutality and taste for gory spectacle is a force multiplier. Perhaps more than merely evil, the Islamic State is diabolical: like the Satan of scripture, it is a creature that is many things to many people, enjoys a disconcerting allure, and ultimately tricks us in to believing that we are doing the right thing when we are actually destroying ourselves.

    This may explain, in part, how it is increasingly resorting to crimes that are not just horrific but spectacularly staged, such as the immolation of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh or the mise-en-scène of the beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts on a Libyan beach. The Islamic State is at its most dangerous in its interaction with the psyche, the fantasies, the frustrations and the fears of others, from the converts it attracts to policy-makers and analysts.

    Nawabsai surat kan, un jeune #afghan d une 20aine d’année se fera expulser demain matin (15.01.2014) par le vol KLM 1722de 8h15 vers schipool ( Amsterdam). Il vient d une region considérée comme dangereuse mais la seule réponse qu’il a obtenu est d’aller s’installer dans une autre region considérée comme sur. Nawabsai s est fait arreté lors de la manifestation réprimée, fin septembre. RDV a 6h15 à l’aéroport pour tenter d’empecher l’#expulsion.

      COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE DU COLLECTIF DES AFGHANS

      Nawabsai Surat Khan, un afghan d’une vingtaine d’années, a été arrêté lors d’une manifestation politique, dont les violences policières ont été condamnées par les associations, le 26 septembre 2013. Originaire d’une région considérée comme dangereuse par le HCR, le CGRA a considéré qu’il avait l’opportunité de s’installer dans une région sûre.Il sera expulsé ce mardi 14 janvier à 8h15, de Bruxelles vers Kaboul via Amsterdam (Schipool) par un vol KLM (KLM 1722).

      Cette expulsion suit celle de Fahim Sofi, après la Marche des Afghans au travers d’une Wallonie chaleureuse, qui avait mené à une rencontre entre le collectif des afghans, le Premier Ministre et la Secrétaire d’Etat à l’Asile et à la Migration. Elle sert également de point final à la Marche des Afghans au travers de la Flandre, accueillie avec enthousiasme à Gand.

      A aucun moment la Secrétaire d’Etat n’a fait usage d’arguments objectifs sur les dysfonctionnements structurels dans le traitement des demandes d’asile des afghans dénoncés par la plateforme associative qui soutient leurs revendications.

      Chacune des actions collectives des afghans démontre leur énergie à dénoncer une politique de représentation de la force, plutôt que de gestion raisonnée. Chacune de ces actions est également sanctionnée par les administrations de la Secrétaire d’Etat d’un nouveau sceau de la honte. Nous voulons d’une Belgique unifiée, certes. Mais à quel prix ?
