GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — A Palestinian teen was shot and killed by Israeli forces, while three others were injured during protests on Wednesday night, east of Rafah in the southern besieged Gaza Strip.

Ashraf al-Qidra, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, confirmed that a 15-year-old Palestinian was killed after Israeli forces fired live ammunition at him.

The ministry identified the killed teen as Muamen Abu Eyada , from the al-Brazil neighborhood in Rafah in southern Gaza.

The ministry added that three other Palestinians were injured during the protests due to Israeli live ammunition.
The identity and condition of the three injured remained unknown.

Muamen’s killing comes after the people of Gaza marched on Wednesday in the funeral processions of four Palestinians, who were killed the day before by Israel.

Throughout the unrest, rights groups have repeatedly denounced what they have termed Israeli forces’ “shoot-to-kill” policy against Palestinians who did not constitute a threat at the time of their death or who could have been subdued in a non-lethal manner.

The six men killed in the explosion were identified as:

      1. Mahmoud Waleed al-Ostath , 34, from Deir al-Balah – Central Gaza.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, issued a preliminary statement saying that the six Palestinians were senior members of the group, and accused Israel of standing behind the explosion.

The Brigades described the explosion a “serious, massive crime,” adding that the fighters sacrificed their lives in dismantling and uncovering this surveillance system.

It held Israel directly responsible for the death of its fighters, and added that “payback will be coming, and will be very painful to the enemy, for this crimes and many previous crimes.”

Gaza’s air, sea and borders are all controlled by the Israeli military occupation, which has implemented a deadly siege on the tiny coastal Strip since 2007 – preventing the entry of building materials, medical supplies, food and basic necessities, while preventing the exit of Palestinians from Gaza.

Since March 30th, Palestinian protesters have engaged in weekly demonstrations at the Gaza-Israel border. These demonstrations have been attacked by Israeli sharpshooters stationed at the border, who have killed 45 Palestinians and wounded more than 7,000 – many of whom were wounded with live ammunition fired by Israeli forces at the unarmed demonstrators.

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — An 18-year-old Palestinian in Gaza was killed by Israeli forces on Friday after a soldier shot the youth in the head during protests east of al-Bureij refugee camp near the border between the besieged enclave and Israel.

Ministry of Health spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra identified the youth as Abd al-Rahman Ahmad al-Dabbagh and confirmed the 18-year-old had been shot in the head. He was rushed to the Al-Aqsa hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, another Palestinian was injured with live fire during clashes near Nahal Oz east of al-Shujaiyya in the Gaza Strip.

Witnesses told Ma’an that dozens of youths had gathered in several areas near the border with Israel, as clashes erupted with Israeli forces who opened live fire at the protestors.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that a “violent riot erupted” near the border with Gaza, as “dozens of rioters breached the buffer zone” — a unilaterally declared area in Gaza’s territory near the separation barrier. According to the spokesperson “in an attempt to prevent an escalation of violence,” Israeli forces used tear gas in order to disperse the “riot.”

However, the spokesperson denied that Israeli forces had used live fire on the protestors, saying that although the Israeli army had heard reports of an 18-year-old being shot in the head, it was “not caused by the (Israeli army).”
