    The incidents today, 26 October 2018, were as follows:

    At approximately 15:00, thousands of civilians, including women, children and entire families, started swarming to the 5 encampments established by the Supreme National Authority for the Great March of Return and Breaking Siege along the border fence, east of the Gaza Strip governorates. They raised flags and chanted national songs. Hundreds, including children and women, approached the border fence with Israel, set fire to tires and gathered 300 meters away from the main border fence. Some of them attempted to throw stones at the Israeli forces, limitedly threw Molotov Cocktails and pulled parts of the second barbed-wire few meters away from the fence established inside the Palestinian territories few meters away from the border fence and in limited cases, they threw Molotov Cocktails along the border fence. However, there was no threat posed on the lives of Israeli soldiers stationed behind barracks and sand berms, 70 meters away the border fence.

    The Israeli shooting, which continued until 18:30, resulted in the killing of 4 civilians; 3 of them were killed in eastern Khan Yunis, east of Khuza’ah, where demonstrations moved to a new location near the border fence in eastern Khan Yunis. The death of civilians killed was declared few hours after their arrival at the European Hospital and they were identified as:

    Nassar Eyad Nassar Abu Tayyim (19), from Bani Suhiylah, east of Khan Yunis, was hit with a live bullet to the head in eastern Khan Yunis.
    Ahmed Sa’ied ‘Abed al-‘Aziz Abu Lebda (22), from Bani Suhiylah, east of Khan Yunis, was hit with a live bullet to the chest in eastern Khan Yunis.
    ‘Ayish Ghassan ‘Ayish Sha’at (23), from al-Fukhari neighborhood, east of Khan Yunis, was hit with a live bullet to the head in eastern Khan Yunis.
    Mohamed Khaled Mahmoud ‘Abed al-Nabi (27), from Jabalia, was hit with a live bullet to the head at approximately 15:20, in eastern Abu Safiyia area, northeast of Jabalia. His death was declared at approximately 16:30 in al-Shifa Hospital after referring him from the Indonesian Hospital.

    Moreover, 236 civilians, including 51 children, 8 women, 3 journalists, and 6 paramedics, were wounded with live bullets and directly hit with tear gas canisters. Sixteen of those wounded sustained serious wounds in addition dozens suffering tear gas inhalation and seizures after tear gas canisters were heavily fired by the Israeli soldiers from the military jeeps and riffles in the eastern Gaza Strip.

    On Friday afternoon, 05 October 2018, using excessive force against the peaceful protesters in the eastern Gaza Strip for the 28th Friday in a row, Israeli forces Killed 3 Palestinian civilians, including a child, and wounded 171 others, including 14 children, 3 journalists ( one of them was a female journalist) and 3 paramedics with live bullets and direct tear gas canisters. Eight of those wounded sustained serious wounds.

    According to PCHR fieldworkers’ observations, the border area witnessed heavy deployment of the Israeli forces this week as the latter heavily fired live bullets, increasing the number of causalities .

    The Israeli shooting, which continued until 19:00, resulted in the killing of 3 civilians, including a child. Two of them were killed in eastern al-Shuja’iyia neighborhood and the third one was killed in eastern Khuza’a, east of Khan Yunis.

    The persons killed were identified as :

    1- Mahmoud Akram Mohamed Abu Sam’an (20), from al-Nusirat Camp, was hit with a live bullet to the chest.

    2- Fares Hafez ‘Abed al-‘Aziz al-Sersawi (12), from al-Shuja’iyia neighborhood, was hit with a live bullet to the chest.

    3- Hussain Fathi Hussain Muhsen (al-Reqib) , 18, from Bani Suhialah, east of Khan Yunis, was hit with a live bullet to the abdomen and succumbed to his wounds at approximately 20:45.

      Selon l’armée israélienne, environ 20 000 Palestiniens ont à nouveau manifesté, vendredi 5 octobre, le long de la barrière de séparation entre la bande de Gaza et le territoire israélien. La mobilisation était forte encore alors que ce mouvement de protestation pour réclamer la levée du blocus imposé à l’enclave, la Marche du retour, dure désormais depuis plus de six mois.       Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said the soldiers killed Mahmoud Akram Abu Sam’an , 23, with a live round in his chest, east of Gaza city. The Palestinian was from the Nusseirat refugee camp, northeast of Deir al-Balah, in Central Gaza.

      It added that the soldiers also killed a child, identified as Fares Hafeth Abdul-Aziz Sarsawi , 12, with a live round in the chest, east of Gaza city. The child was from the Sheja’eyya neighborhood in Gaza.

      The third Palestinian was identified as Mohammad Fathi Hussein al-Reqeb , 18, from Bani Suheila town, was shot with a live round in the abdomen, east of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

      A number of the wounded protesters had to be rushed to the hospital, while the rest were treated in field clinics.

      An ambulance en route to the hospital was directly targeted by an Israeli teargas canister, which caused damage to the ambulance.

      The army also fired gas bombs at ambulances, causing damage to at least one ambulance, east of Gaza city.

      The protests call for ending the 12-year-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for the right of return of the refugees.

    Deux Palestiniens ont été tués vendredi dans la bande de Gaza par des tirs de soldats israéliens lors de manifestations et de heurts le long de la barrière de séparation, sans que la trêve fragile instaurée entre le Hamas et Israël paraisse remise en cause.

    Les protestations du vendredi étaient considérées comme un test des intentions du mouvement islamiste Hamas et de ses alliés dans l’enclave palestinienne sous blocus, après un sévère accès de fièvre jeudi.

    Environ 2.000 Palestiniens ont manifesté et brûlé des pneus à l’est de la ville de Gaza, a constaté un journaliste de l’AFP.

    Avec d’autres rassemblements ailleurs le long de la barrière israélienne, quelques milliers de personnes en tout se sont déplacées, loin des mobilisations antérieures qui ont pu réunir des dizaines de milliers de Gazaouis.

    Un secouriste de 21 ans, Abdallah al-Qatati , a succombé après avoir été atteint à la poitrine à l’est de Rafah (sud de la bande de Gaza). Il s’agit du 2e secouriste au moins à avoir été tué par les tirs israéliens depuis le 30 mars. Un autre Palestinien Ali Al-Aloul, 55 ans, a également été tué vendredi par l’armée israélienne.

    Par ailleurs, 307 Palestiniens ont été blessés -certains par des gaz lacrymogènes-, dont deux journalistes et cinq secouristes, a indiqué le ministère local de la Santé. Au moins 131 d’entre eux ont été blessés par balles.

They raised flags, and chanted slogans and national songs in addition to flying kites and firing balloons, while hundreds of them, including children and women, approached the border fence, set fire to tires and attempted to throw stones at the Israeli forces. The participants were present around 300 meters away from the main border fence.

      According to observations by PCHR’s fieldworkers, Israeli tanks stationed in front of the demonstrators and heavily opened fire at them and their surroundings in an attempt to disperse them. The Israeli tanks also fired sound and smoke bombs at the demonstrators for the first time. Moreover, the Israeli forces’ snipers deliberately and selectively opened fire at the participants present around 200 meters away from the border fence. The Israeli shooting resulted in the killing of 2 Palestinian civilians, including a paramedic, in eastern Rafah. The abovementioned civilians were wounded at approximately 18:15, while they were around 50-100 meters away from the border fence when an Israeli tank heavily opened fire at the demonstrators, east of the city. In less than an hour of their injury, medical sources at the European Hospital declared their death. Those civilians killed were identified as:

      ‘Abdullah Sabri ‘Atiyiah al-Qitati ( 22), a volunteer paramedic in pulse of life youth team, from Rafah. ‘Abdullah was hit with a live bullet that entered and exited his back.
      Ali Sa’ied ‘Ali al-‘Aloul (55), from Rafah, who was hit with a live bullet that entered his chest from the right side and exited from the left side.

      The Israeli shooting which continued until 20:00 resulted in the wounding of 143 civilians, including 22 children, 3 women, 4 paramedics, and 2 journalists. Forty-four of those wounded sustained serious wounds. Among those wounded, 112 were hit with live bullets while the rest of them were hit with direct tear gas canisters. In addition, dozens of civilians suffered tear gas inhalation and seizures after tear gas canisters were heavily fired by the soldiers stationed along the border fence and by drones hovering over the protesters.       Dr. Jawad Awwad, the Palestinian Health Minister, issued a statement denouncing the ongoing Israeli excessive use of force against Palestinian nonviolent protesters, and condemning the fatal shooting of a Palestinian medic.

      Dr. Awwad said the killing of medic volunteer Abdullah al-Qutati, 20 , east of Rafah, and the targeting of medics, journalists and unarmed civilians, are serious violations of International Law and all related resolutions and treaties.

      The army also continued to target ambulances and medical teams, including attacks with live fire and gas bombs at make-shift clinics.


      Besides killing al-Qutati on Friday, the soldiers also killed Ali Sa’id al-‘Aloul, 55, and injured 307 Palestinians, including 85 who were shot with live fire.

    Israeli soldiers fired, on Sunday morning, several shells into a structure and Palestinian lands, between Rafah and Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinians and seriously wounding one.

    A Palestinian who was critically injured on Sunday, during a predawn Israeli strike on several locations to the south of the Gaza Strip died of his serious wounds, bringing the total number of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli army, today, to three.


    Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the Palestinian, Naseem Marwan al-‘Amour , 20, from Rafah, has died from his serious wounds.

    He added that the young man suffered very serious wounds, and was rushed to surgery at the European Hospital in Gaza, but later succumbed to his wounds at the Intensive Care Unit.

    Israeli forces stationed along the barbed-wire fence that separates between Gaza and Israel fired at least two missiles targeting a location between the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, killing two Palestinians in their 20s. The site was completely destroyed.

    The Israeli army further shelled, with at least two missiles, a location to the east of Deit al-Balah city, in central Gaza, causing heavy damage to the site. No injuries were reported among Palestinians living near the targeted site.

    The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that a Palestinian teenager died, Monday, from very serious wounds he suffered, on April 1st, after Israeli soldiers shot him during a nonviolent protest near the border fence, in Khuza’a village, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

    The Ministry said the Palestinian, Tahrir Mahmoud Wahba , 18, was shot in the head during a nonviolent procession, and remained in a very serious condition until his death at the European Hospital, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

    The Palestinian, who is also deaf and cannot speak, was shot near the border fence east of Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis. He was from Tal al-Sultan area, in nearby Rafah.

    “My son cannot speak or hear, and I frequently tried to prevent him from protesting near the border area,” his mother said, “But he would get angry, and shake his head, refusing to stay home, and insisting on being part of the struggle.”

    GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man on Thursday along the border of the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

    The ministry spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qidra, announced that a man identified as Abdullah Muhammad Shahri, 28, was shot in the chest during ongoing protests, east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis.

    Shahri was evacuated to the European Hospital in Khan Younis, and was pronounced dead shortly after.

    Shahri’s death brought the number of Palestinians killed during protests along the Gaza border to 30, since the “Great March of Return” began on March 30.

    Israeli soldiers fired, on Friday morning, tank and artillery shells at Palestinian farmers, east of the Al-Qarara area, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, killing one and seriously wounding another.

    Medical sources said a young man, identified as Omar Wahid Nasrallah Sammour , 27, was killed by a shell fired from an Israeli tank, stationed across the border fence.

    They added that another farmer suffered serious wounds, and was rushed to the European Hospital, in Khan Younis.

    Media sources in Gaza have confirmed that the slain Palestinian, and the wounded, were farmers, working on their land near the border fence area, and that the attack targeted them, and several other farmers.

    There were no processions or confrontation in the area, and the entire coastal region, when the Israeli attack was carried out.

    GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — An 15-year-old Palestinian was killed and two other Palestinians were injured by Israeli shelling in eastern Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip before dawn on Wednesday.

    Locals told Ma’an that Israeli drones were also flying overhead as the sound of gunshots and explosions were heard.

    Spokesperson for Gaza’s Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement that Youssef Shaaban Abu Athra , 15, was killed while two others sustained multiple injuries from shrapnel as a result of the artillery fire. He was initially reported to be 18-years-old.

    The two injured were taken to the Abu Youssef Najjar Hospital in Rafah for treatment. Their identities and their medical conditions remained unknown.

    An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that Israel forces had “detected three suspects” near Israel’s military border fence in southern Gaza, and that Israeli forces responded by “firing with a tank toward the suspect,” adding that “one hit was confirmed.”

    However the spokesperson did not explicitly acknowledge that someone had been killed or elaborate on what had been suspicious about their behavior.

    According to Israel news site Ynet, the Israeli army was investigating whether the three Palestinians “were trying to plant an explosive device.”

    In a separate incident in southern Gaza on Wednesday morning, witnesses told Ma’an that four Israeli bulldozers raided the town of al-Qarrara in northern part of Khan Yunis, escorted by several Israeli military vehicles deployed inside the Gaza’s borders.

    Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers indiscriminately opened fire at Palestinian farmers tending to their lands there, however no injuries were reported.

      In a new crime of excessive use of force, on 22 March 2017, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian civilian and seriously wounded a young man after firing artillery shells at them when both civilians were near the border fence with Israel in al-Shokah village, east of Rafah City. The investigations conducted by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) emphasized that the shelling incident violates the principle of necessity and distinction during which the use of force was excessive, especially the victims were only civilians and unarmed.

      According to PCHR’s investigations and the testimony of an eyewitness, at approximately 00:00, Israeli forces stationed along the border fence off al-Nahdah neighborhood in al-Shokah village, east of Rafah City, fired around 15 artillery shells at 3 Palestinian civilians, who were only 300 meters away from the above-mentioned fence. According to the eyewitness, those civilians intended to sneak into Israel for work. The artillery shells directly hit one of them namely Yousif Sha’ban Ahmed Abu ‘Azrah (16), from al-Shabourah refugee camp in Rafah City, to the upper part of his body. Meanwhile, Mohammed Wahid ‘Atallah al-‘Akar (25), from Yibna refugee camp in Rafah, sustained shrapnel wounds to the chest and abdomen. The child died on the spot while al-‘Akar was transferred to the European Hospital in Khan Younis due to his serious wounds. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said to PCHR’s fieldworker that the Palestinian Liaison told the PRCS they received information from the Israeli Liaison there is a dead body in the aforementioned area. The PRCS immediately headed to the scene to find the child’s dead body 300 meters away from the fence while they found al-‘Akar lying around 500 meters away from the fence. It should be mentioned that since the beginning of 2017, the Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian civilian and wounded 21 others, including 3 children.

    GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — An 11-year-old boy died on Thursday after being critically injured during Israel’s military offensive on the besieged coastal enclave.

    Yousif Muhammad Jmeiat al-Shalafa was pronounced dead at the European Hospital in Khan Younis after suffering from severe head wounds sustained in an Israeli airstrike on his family home in Rafah.

    Both his parents were killed in the attack and five other family members were injured.
