For over a decade I have supported and defended Mozilla and Firefox (sometimes in weird ways). I truly hope this is a move in which they succeed, as the alternative won’t be a pleasant outcome to anyone in the online world, and I wish I could be a part of it and help construct and hone it to the outstanding platform they intend it to become. It’s unfortunate that we have such divergent paths, I remain pessimistic about Mozilla’s current strategy, so I must make a new one for myself. Still, I wish the best of luck to everyone there; I’m still afraid you’ll need it.

SeenThisify

Use this to post content to SeenThis.net easily
@robin j’allais te le proposer :)
@b_b @Fil On est bons, c’est transféré : ►https://github.com/seenthis/firefox-seenthisify

OneTab extension for Google #Chrome and #Firefox - save up to 95% memory and reduce tab clutter
▻http://www.one-tab.com
Whenever you find yourself with too many #tabs, click the OneTab icon to convert all of your tabs into a list. When you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.
ACK!
I will now be able to increase my number open tabs x100 :D
Another similar extension is Session Buddy, which comparable features and additional ones, easier for managing your sessions, moving tabs between open windows, saving them, and have an overview of all open windows and all the tabs.
Also, it automatically saves a snapshot of all your open windows/tabs, useful for when Chrome crashes and cannot restore its windows.
You can also save different sessions, and have your own snapshots in time.
▻http://www.sessionbuddy.com
A big differentiator between the two extensions is the permissions they need :
– OneTab : "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit"
– Session Buddy : "Read your Browsing History" and "Display Notifications"
I tend to find the latter less intrusive
The only danger for me with these tools is that my list of “to do” will just keep growing, whereas now I am regularly forcing myself to first “treat” the open windows for lack of memory, before starting something new...
Session Buddy seems to be Chrome only though.
In Firefox the out of memory issues are not a problem because if you kill it and restart the tabs you haven’t touched are in a special “unloaded” state and stay there until you activate. Because of that I have over 800 tabs (across three devices).

Storage Inspector - Firefox Developer Tools | MDN
▻https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Storage_Inspector
The Storage Inspector enables you to inspect various types of storage that a web page can use. Currently it can be used to inspect the following storage types:
– Cache Storage (new in Firefox 47) - any DOM caches created using the Cache API.
– Cookies - All the cookies created by the page or any iframes inside of the page. Cookies created as a part of response of network calls are also listed, but only for calls that happened while the tool is open.
– Local Storage - All local storage items created by the page or any iframes inside the page.
– Session Storage - All session storage items created by the page or any iframes inside the page.
– IndexedDB - All IndexedDB databases created by the page or any iframes inside the page, their Object Stores and the items stored in these Object Stores.
For the time being, the Storage Inspector only gives you a read-only view of storage. But we’re working to let you edit storage contents in future releases.

Using the Web Animations API - Web APIs | MDN
▻https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Animations_API/Using_the_Web_Animations_API
The Web Animations API lets us construct animations and control their playback with JavaScript. This article will start you off in the right direction with fun demos and tutorials featuring Alice in Wonderland.
The Web Animations API opens the browser’s animation engine to developers and manipulation by JavaScript. This API was designed to underlie implementations of both CSS Animations and CSS Transitions, and leaves the door open to future animation effects. It is one of the most performant ways to animate on the Web where supported, letting the browser make its own internal optimizations without hacks, coercion, or Window.requestAnimationFrame().
With the Web Animations API, we can move interactive animations from stylesheets to JavaScript, separating presentation from behavior. We no longer need to rely on DOM-heavy techniques like writing CSS properties and scoping classes onto elements to control playback direction. And unlike pure, declarative CSS, JavaScript also lets us dynamically set values from properties to durations. For building custom animation libraries and creating interactive animations, the Web Animations API might be the perfect tool for the job.
