Lors de son adresse aux participants, le sénateur républicain texan Rafael Edward « Ted » Cruz, s’est fait #huer quand il a prétendu devant les chrétiens d’origine arabe que les « chrétiens n’avaient pas de meilleurs alliés que l’Etat juif ». Ce politicien, qui bénéficie du soutien des ultraconservateurs du #Tea_Party, a poursuivi sous les #sifflets, affirmant que « ceux qui haïssent #Israël haïssent les #Etats-Unis », et ceux qui haïssent les juifs ne suivent pas les enseignements du Christ. « Si vous ne voulez pas être aux côtés d’Israël et des juifs, a-t-il lancé avant de quitter le podium, alors je ne serai pas avec vous ».
