Part 4
==================================
Hama Countryside :
• Most villages in the countryside were violently shelled with a variety of weapons by regime forces:
Kafarzeita, Tayebt al-IMam, Kernaz, al-Latamne, Ma’arzaf, al-Qubair, Helfaya and Ma’ardess.
• Members of the regime army and shabiha (regime thugs) committed a horrific massacre in the village of al-Qubair farm, which lies 20 kilometers west of Hama city and 2 kilometers south of Ma’arzaf. 78 people were killed during this massacre, with more than half of them being women and children. Half the houses in the village were totally destroyed by regime tanks.
According to eyewitness and activists from the area, the regime army stormed Jraijes village and burned several houses, and then stormed Ma’arzaf village and attacked several families before it began shelling al-Qubair at around 1 p.m. Afterwards, regime army forces were joined by shabiha from regime-loyalist villages in the area who entered al-Qubair amid intense gunfire. They stormed houses and fired randomly at men, women and children. They led many men outside of their homes and slaughtered them with knives. They burned the corpses of more than 10 people they killed. They then withdrew from the village, kidnapping the corpses of at least 37 of the people they killed.
It must be noted that al-Qubair is maintained by the town of Ma’arzaf, which is a part of the Mharde region. There are about 20 houses in the village, and most residents are cousins from a single family.

Snipers positioned themselves atop buildings at the al-Syada village junction. Residents came across burnt corpses in more than one house and in the security headquarters in the city after security forces withdrew from Kafarzeita.
• The regime army shelled Tayebt al-Imam with heavy and medium machine guns and explosive Sjilka shells. They damaged the minaret of Ammar bin Yaser Mosque. Snipers from the security forces positioned themselves atop high buildings in the city.
• Security forces blocked the road connecting Qal’aat al-Madeeq and al-Twainy village from the direction of al-Ghwaiba village
• Regime forces stormed al-Twainy and arrested two people
• Many warplanes flew over Soran, as an envoy of tanks and large trucks carrying regime army forces headed west was seen on the Aleppo-Damascus motorway
• A military envoy was seen on the international road headed south (South of Ma’ardess Bridge)
• Regime army troops and security forces stormed Jraijes village amid heavy gunfire, killing one person and injuring several others
• There was intense gunfire coming from the Hospital Checkpoint in Helfaya. At the same time, warplanes were flying over the city at a low altitude
• Two people from Kernaz were kidnapped on their way back from Talbeseh in the Homs countryside:
Badar Taher al-Masri and Saeed Khaled al-Yusuf
